Live Well 4 Life classes start in December. We use the National Diabetes Prevention Program curriculum which is offered in communities all over the country. It is an evidenced based proven program of 16 one-hour weekly sessions, followed by 8 one-hour monthly sessions with a trained Lifestyle Coach. CAAH participants have lost over 900 pounds. Many older adults experience concerns about falling and restrict their activities during the winter months. A Matter of Balance is a program designed to manage falls and increase activity levels year-round. This is a free 8-week program that meets weekly for 2 hours. Take the diabetes risk test. If you score 9 points or more on this one-minute test and are overweight, you are eligible for the 22-week FREE Live Well 4 Life diabetes prevention program. You are also eligible if you are overweight and have an elevated blood glucose test diagnosis of "pre-diabetes" from your doctor. Always ask your doctor for an annual wellness glucose test.
